Submit Vetting Documentation
On your linguist profile, scroll to the “Vetting Documents (private)” section. There should be four rows in the list:
Document #1: Traduality Independent Contractor Agreement
Document #2: United States IRS tax forms
Next, fill out the appropriate tax form.
If you work in the United States:
- Click the “Sign Document (US only)” button next to “W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number)”.
- If you need help filling out the W-9 tax form, contact Traduality support.
- After signing the form, you should not fill out the W-8BEN tax form.
If you work outside the United States:
- Click the “Sign Document (non-US only)” button next to “W-8BEN (Certificate of Foreign Status)”.
- If you need help filling out the W-8BEN tax form, contact Traduality support.
- After signing the form, you should not fill out the W-9 tax form.
Document #3: Proof of Professional Experience
Finally, click the “Upload Required Document” button next to “Proof of Professional Experience.” You must submit documentation demonstrating at least 3 years of experience as a full-time professional linguist. You can submit multiple documents, including:
- University degree with a major related to translation or interpretation.
- Letter of recommendation from a paying customer who has used your services for at least 3 years.
- Invoices from paying customers from 3 different years.
You must submit at least one file proving professional experience but may submit more than one if needed.
Verification
After you submit your vetting documentation, Traduality administrators will review your documents.
If you receive an email saying that you have been vetted, congratulations! You can start searching for jobs on Traduality.
If you receive an email saying that your vetting documentation has been rejected, you can update your documentation on your linguist profile.
